Uccellino - little bird

Un post molto breve e molto in ritardo ;)
Trattasi di un uccellino che ho cucito per il mio albero di natale, il primo (albero) che faccio da quando ho circa 8 anni. Non è molto natalizia come decorazione, ma sullo sfondo verde sta proprio bene.
E' cugino dei soliti uccellini solo con la testina un po' più appuntita, le zampe arancioni e l'ala a pois.
C'è ancora un post natalizio in arrivo, ma devo finire di preparare il tutorial.
This post is really brief and comes really late ;)
It's a felt bird I sewed for my xmas tree, the first (tree) I've made since I was 8.
This decoration has little to do with Christmas, but you cannot have a tree without a bird, can you?
It belongs to the same bird family, but its head is more pointed, its legs are orange and its wing is full of dots.
There's another Christmas post in the air, but I still have to finish the tutorial.

Calamita camaleonte - Chameleon magnet

Il fatto è che io li adoro i camaleonti e quindi non potevo esimermi dal farne una calamitina da frigo. Il procedimento è lo stesso delle altre calamite a forma di animali, ma lui è speciale :)
Mi piace soprattutto l'occhio in rilievo, dato da una pallina di feltro arancione tagliata a metà. Le dimensioni son sempre quelle, circa 4 cm.
Ne ho fatto anche uno uguale ma che funge da spilla, niente calamita dentro.
The fact is I love chameleons and I couldn't help making a fridge magnet. The steps to make it are the same as for the other animal magnets, but he is sooo special :)
One thing I really like is the bulging eye, made of an orange felt ball cut in two. Size is always 4 cm more or less.
I also made his brother who's not a magnet but a brooch.

Prima ho trovato un invitante tutorial su three bears che però non spiegava bene come fare il rivestimento interno. Così poi girovagando ho trovato un bellissimo tutorial di Projects by Jane per fare una lined zippered boxy pouch.

Per rendere l'astuccio più cicciuto ho aggiunto uno strato di pannolenci che ha svolto la sua funzione alla grande!

Owl magnets - gufi magnetici

Ciao, la posta si è magnata il pacco col regalo per la Speedy, tra i vari regalini mi sa che sono state le due calamite a dar problemi quindi ve le mostro perché meglio se le mando qualcos'altro :)
Sono fatte di due strati di feltro con all'interno la calamita. Per le ali del gufetto rosa qui sopra ho cucito della stoffa su del pannolenci, niente di complicato. Le zampe sono di cordoncino arancione. Sono grandi più o meno 3-4 cm.
Hello, Postal service ate my letter containing some little gifts for speedycreativa. I believe that, among the gifts, the two magnets were the cause of the problem. Therefore I'll choose something else to send her! Here are the two magnets.
They're made of a double layer of thick felt with a magnet inside. The wings of the pink owl above are made of a piece of fabric sewn to a piece of felt. The legs are made of orange twine. These two creatures's size is about 3-4 cm.

Fiocco per Maria

Ecco il fiocco che ho creato per festeggiare la nascita della mia terza nipotina, Maria.
La base è una ghirlanda di polistirolo attorno a cui ho avvolto delle strisce di stoffa bianca e colorata sui toni del rosa acceso. Il nome è fatto di lettere di pannolenci imbottite e cucite su una fascia di stoffa. Ho condito il tutto con bottoni attaccati con la colla a caldo, qualche pallina di feltro e un po' di nastri di raso.
La cosa divertente è che non ho usato colla (se non quella per i bottoni), ma ho attaccato i vari pezzi con una marea di mini spilli: questo dà il grande vantaggio di poter fare e disfare a piacimento ;)
Le foto son sempre scure e i colori non rendono ma adoro le due stoffe che ho usato!
Here is the garland I made to celebrate the birth of my third niece Maria.
First of all I bought a polystyrene garland, then I wrapped it with stripes of fabric in the shades of "violent" pink and white. The name is made of felt stuffed letters which I stitched to a stripe of fabric. Then I had fun with some pink, purple and green buttons, some felt balls and some ribbons.
The funniest part of it is that I didn't use any glue (apart from the button time), I just used a heap of small pins: this turns out to be very useful because you can make and unmake ad libitum ;)
The pictures are dark as usual and colours are not the same as in reality, but I love both fabrics I used!
La base è una ghirlanda di polistirolo attorno a cui ho avvolto delle strisce di stoffa bianca e colorata sui toni del rosa acceso. Il nome è fatto di lettere di pannolenci imbottite e cucite su una fascia di stoffa. Ho condito il tutto con bottoni attaccati con la colla a caldo, qualche pallina di feltro e un po' di nastri di raso.

Wedding Card

La foto è sfuocata, portate pazienza, ma quando devo fotografare il cielo è sempre nuvoloso..
Comunque è il biglietto che ho cucito per il matrimonio di un'amica: su una base di stoffa bianca un po' spessa ho cucito le striscette di stoffine colorate e gli uccellini di pannolenci. le scritte sono stampate su cartoncino e anche quelle cucite alla stoffa bianca. Poi è bastato cucire il rettangolo di stoffa bianca sul cartoncino del biglietto.
That's the card I made for the wedding of a friend of mine. First I cut a rectangle of white thick fabric and machine stitched the stripes of coloured fabric to it. The words were printed on cardboard and then machine stitched. Once finished the "picture" I just machine stitched the white fabric to the card.
