Medea la medusa

Dopo un mese di ispirazione sotto i tacchi e voglia di far niente ecco all'improvviso la luce in fondo al tunnel ^__^ o forse era bioluminescenza?
Una sera scarabocchiando ho disegnato lei ed è stato amore a prima vista. Ho sfidato il caldo torrido della stanza dei lavoretti per cucirla e devo dire che ne è valsa la pena, cara la mia Medea (una medusa in caso non si fosse capito, il che non è scontato...)
Goodbye to a month of stone dead inspiration and total laziness! Suddenly the light at the end of the tunnel ^__^ or maybe it was just bioluminescence...
One night while I was lazily scribbling I drew her and it was love at first sight!
Never mind the tropical heat, the rainforest climate of my crafty room, I had to sew her. And it was worth the sweat, my sweet Medea (a jellyfish, just in case you did not understand).
Giusto del pannolenci, un po' di pizzo e della lana grossa ed ecco qui il nuovo membro della famigliola di pannolenci. Il nome Medea le ci vuole proprio, perché pur essendo tanto caruccia nasconde in sè il giusto tocco di malignità intrinseca... vabbè la smetto!
Just some felt, some lace and thick wool and here it is the brand new member of my felt family. I think the name Medea is really appropriate because although she's sooo cute she hides the right amount of evil...ok I'm done with it!

°Full circle° felt bracelet

In questo periodo ho la fissa dei cerchietti e li metterei dappertutto. Intanto li ho messi su un braccialetto. Come al solito tutto molto semplice, colorato e di pannolenci ovviamente!
Vi ho preparato un tutorial, che troverete nella sezione pannolenci quando sarà finito, ma vi basta un po' di immaginazione per farvi un braccialetto da voi.
These days I'm so much into circles: I see them anywhere! First I put them on a bracelet. It's sooo easy and colourful as usual, and of course it's made of felt!
I'm writing a tutorial, that you'll find in the Felt section as soon as it's finished, but you only need some imagination to create a bracelet on your own.

è passato un secolo dall'ultimo post, ma tra il doversi abituare ai nuovi orari lavorativi e la bella stagione non ho avuto molto tempo e neanche tanta ispirazione.
Appena posso mi godo il bel tempo e l'orticello che ha bisogno di cure. Però mi son messa d'impegno e ho almeno finito questo astuccio a forma di fetta di cocomero che giaceva incompleto sul tavolo da tempo.

It's been ages since my last post, but I had to get used to the rhythms and stress of my new job and I wanted to enjoy the beautiful season. As soon as I can I get out for a walk in the sun or take care of the little vegetable garden.
But I got down to business and finished this watermelon purse/pencil-case that lay half-done on my table.

Tim Burton ha scritto un libriccino di storielle-poesiole su tanti personaggi bizzarri, "The melancholy death of Oyster Boy and other stories". Ecco, Roy the Toxic Boy è il mio preferito: un bambino che ama annusare ammoniaca, asbesto e fumo di sigaretta e che se ne sta la mattina in garage con la faccia sul tubo di scappamento della macchina a riempirsi i polmoni di gas di scarico. Non è adorabile?

Roy the Toxic Boy is my favourite one: a kid who likes ammonia and asbestos and lots of cigarette smokes and who likes to sit in the garage in the early morning frost waiting to fill his lungs with car's exhaust. finalmente trovo un po' di tempo per scrivervi qualcosa. Quando torno
dal lavoro sono così stanca che mi si chiudono gli occhi, mi devo ancora
abituare ai nuovi orari...
Continuano gli uccellini, come potete vedere. Questa è un'altra versione, ottenuta modificando appena il modello del cardinale rosso dello scorso post. Basta eliminare il ciuffo e arrotondare la testolina e avete un uccellino normale, da creare in tanti colori. In questo caso si tratta di un uccellino da appendere, con zampette lunghe a penzoloni, ma le possibili variazioni sul tema sono infinite.
Ho finito il tutorial del cardinale rosso, anche se il tutorial si intitola "Uccelli" perché si possono ottenere praticamente tutti gli uccellini possibili. (appena riesco vi carico anche il pdf col modello).
Chissà se stasera mi verrà l'ispirazione per fare qualcosina, speriamo di sì ;)

More birds as you can see. This is another version: I just changed the red cardinal pattern a little bit. You only need to get rid of the tuft and make the head rounder and you'll get a normal birdie, ready to be sewn in different colours.
In this case it's a hanging bird with long hanging legs, but there are so many possible versions!
I finished the tutorial to make the red cardinal, even if its title is "birds" because you can get almost all possible birds. (I'll load the pdf pattern as soon as I can).
I wonder if I'll get some inspiration tonight ;)

Continuano gli uccellini, come potete vedere. Questa è un'altra versione, ottenuta modificando appena il modello del cardinale rosso dello scorso post. Ciao, l'esame è passato, adesso attendiamo i risultati. Nel frattempo vi mostro il mio nuovo amico, direttamente dal Nord America: un bellissimo cardinale rosso.
Ho sempre avuto una passione per questi uccelli, basta vedere le foto dei boschi innevati dove l'unica macchia colorata sono loro. E credo che il cardinale rosso sia anche un soggetto molto amato nell'ambiente del country painting..
Beh io di country painting non so una mazza e siccome so usare solo il pannolenci, ecco qui la versione morbida.
Hi, the exam is over, now we're waiting for the results. In the meanwhile here is my new friend, straight from North America: a beautiful red cardinal.
I've always loved these animals, just think at the pictures of snowy woods where these birds are the only coloured spots. And I think that the red cardinal is among the favourite subjects in country painting.
I don't know anything about country painting and since I can only use felt, here is the soft version...
E' molto semplice da fare e potete usare il modello per creare molti altri tipi di uccelli. Sto preparando degli altri uccellini per scrivere un tutorial che comprenda tutto. Un po' alla volta.. ^__^

lei, solo per avvisarvi che ho finito il tutorial finalmente! Non mi ricordavo ci volesse così tanto tempo...
Non ero morta, ero solo sommersa dai quiz per il mio esame di oggi. E da domani sarò sommersa dai libri per la seconda parte di mercoledì prossimo.

ispirava così... Questa coniglietta è tutta bianca e così, per darle un po' di colore, le ho fatto una collana con delle perline a fiori che ho comprato su Etsy qui.
Hey there! As I promised, here's the Easter Bunny! Nothing reminds of Easter, but I felt so... This Bunny is all white and so I made a flowery necklace to add some colour. I used some flower beads I bought here on Etsy.
Questa coniglietta mi piace mille mila volte di più dell'altro coniglio, è più carina ed elegante mentre l'altro, Attilio, è proprio primitivo. Però son sicura che anche Attilio potrebbe guadagnare in eleganza se lo rifacessi con delle cuciture nascoste. Insomma è pur sempre figlio mio, no?
I like this bunny sooooo much more than the other rabbit, she's cuter (she's a girl as I told you) and has delicate features, while the other one, Attilio, is definitely primitive. But I'm sure that even Attilio could get more elegant if I created him with hidden stitches. He can't be hopeless, he's one of my children! ^__^
