THE LIZARD OF OZ

What you need:

dark and light green felt, yellow felt for the eyes, green yellow and black embroidery floss, stuffing.

The pieces:

Cut two body shapes and four pairs of legs out of the dark green felt.

You also need two yellow circles for the eyes and some light green triangles that will be the scales on the back.

The legs:

First create the legs. Take a pair of legs and sew them together: don't sew all the way to the end but leave an edge open through which you'll fill the leg with stuffing.

Do the same for the other three pairs of legs.

Putting pieces together (1):

You start from the tail: start sewing the two body shapes together. I use one thread for each side to be sure I sew simmetrically.

Once the tail is sewn, fill it with stuffing.

Keep stitching down the two sides till you reach the point where the hind legs should be. Take a leg (one for each side of course!), put it between the two body shapes and stitch the three pieces together. Go on stitching till the front legs: do the same.

The eyes:

Just stitch two yellow felt circles on the head of the lizard. If you prefer pouty eyes, just put a little bit of stuffing under the circles.

Once the eyes are ready, you can sew and stuff the head.

To make the lizard nicer you can decorate its back with some light green scales.

With the blink of an eye you finally see your Lizard of Oz!
