FELT-COATED BOX
What you need:
a cardboard box, felt, glue, embroidery floss
How to make it:
You start from the base of the box. Cover the whole base with glue and put a piece of felt on it, making sure it doesn't make wrinkles. Now cut the exceeding felt, following the shape of the box.
To cover the sides of the box you have to trace a sign with a pencil where the lid is: if you cover the whole side you won't be able to close the box!
Cut a felt stripe long enough to make it the whole way round the side.
Paint some glue on the box sides under the pencil trace and put the felt stripe on it:, carefully following the pencil trace.
Now cut the exceeding felt, following the shape of the box, very close to the border of the base.
Sew the stripe and the base together using the blanket stitch.
To cover the lid, just follow the same steps. If you like you can put felt even inside the box.
