FELT MAGNET (a DOG and other animals)
What you need:
a little, powerful magnet (I bought it at the ironmonger's), white and purple felt, purple and black embroidery floss
How to do it:
Take the white felt and cut out two dog bodies. Take the purple felt and cut out a ear.
Using purple floss start sewing the two shapes together using our beloved blanket stitch.
Stop after sewing half of the body together (as in the picture above) because you have to insert the magnet between the two layers.
In this particular case the magnet fits perfectly inside the body and doesn't move. If your shape is bigger than your magnet, you may need to fix the magnet into place using floss or a drop of glue.
Once the magnet is inside the body all you have to do is finish sewing the two bodies together. Then make the whole thing more doggish sewing the purple ear and a couple of spots.
A black eye and a nose using black embroidery floss and our little friend is ready to protect our food ;)
