Hola chicos!
direttamente dalla steppa siberiana spazzata dai venti gelidi (chissà
se nevica domani) vi mostro i due biglietti destinati ad Anna e Sonia,
recentemente diventate ventiseienni.
Usando un po' di cosine che avevo a casa, un po' di stoffa ikea (finalmente ho trovato quella bianca coi fioroni colorati che mi piace tanto), delle lettere di cartoncino comprate al negozio 99cent, qualche bottone, un po' di zigzag...
La scritta augurale l'ho ottenuta scrivendo con uno di quei tubetti di colore per stoffa (come insegna l'ottima Elena Fiore).
Hola chicos! Straight from the Siberian steppe, blown by icy winds (I wonder if it'll snow tomorrow), I'm showing you two birthday cards: one for Anna and one for Sonia, who recently turned 26!
I used some things I had in my craftsroom, an IKEA fabric (I finally found my favourite one, the one with big colourful flowers), some cardboard letters I bought at the 99cents shop, some buttons, zig zag trims and stitch...
I wrote the "happy birthday" part (Tanti auguri in italian) using a tube of red fabric paint, like Elena Fiore teaches.

Come potete notare sono proprio pessima a seguire le linee curve con la macchina da cucire, per me è come tentare di far fare il dressage a un mustang! però per fortuna il segreto è sfruttare la carta dell'irregolare in modo che sembri fatto apposta ;) Devo imparare a dosare la forza sul pedale della macchina...
Il biglietto per Sonia è pannolenci su cartoncino, mentre quello per Anna che vedete qui sotto è stoffa su cartoncino.
As you can see, I'm really bad at machine-stitching along non-straight borders, to me it's more or less like turning a mustang into a dressage horse! The secret is to play the "intentionally irregular" card ;)
I still have to train on pushing the machine pedal not too hard...
Sonia's card is felt on light cardboad, while Anna's (below) is fabric on light cardboard.
Fossi stata un po' più accorta l'avrei fatto nelle tonalità del viola dato che la festa di compleanno era un Purple Party, però mi è uscito così. I colori della foto non rendono giustizia ma rendono l'idea.
Mi diverto un sacco a fare questi "mischiotti", a parte quando si inceppa la macchina da cucire e incastra un chilometro di filo in due cm di cucitura.
Perhaps I should have chosen shades of purple for Anna's card; in fact we were all invited to a Purple Party. Anyway the colours you see in the picture are not exactly the real ones, surely not so bright as the real colours.
I'm really having fun in making this mixtures, except when the machine goes mad and wastes 1km of thread for a 1cm stitch..

Il biglietto per Sonia è pannolenci su cartoncino, mentre quello per Anna che vedete qui sotto è stoffa su cartoncino.
As you can see, I'm really bad at machine-stitching along non-straight borders, to me it's more or less like turning a mustang into a dressage horse! The secret is to play the "intentionally irregular" card ;)
